A list of words and phrases used in recipes, and what they really mean

Word or Phrase Mousse
What it means Mousse is a rich, airy mixture that can be either sweet or savory and either hot or cold. The top will look like cold custard when it is set, and the inside will be light and fluffy. Their fluffiness is due to the addition of whipped cream or beaten egg whites. You have probably heard of chocolate moose - Mallory eats it all the time which is why he has a slightly rounded tummy.
